OPEC and Independent Africa Business Panel in The Netherlands Rank Nigeria High

Just as Nigeria leaps from its seventh position to its current second position in OPEC’s ranking of the largest oil exporters in the world, the Independent Africa Business Panel in The Netherlands has declared Nigeria as the number two of the top three investment destinations of choice in Africa.
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has attributed these two laudable economic achievements of the nation to his administration’s efforts at reforming the economy and the success of the amnesty programme initiated by his late boss, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
On Nigeria’s ranking as the number two of the top three investment destination of choice in Africa, President Jonathan said, “this is an affirmation of our efforts at reforming the economy which has born fruit in that inflation in Nigeria has receded to 10.2% while our GDP growth holds firm at over 6.%.
He also attributed the country’s oil sector impressive growth to the expansion of the country’s oil industry.
“We have also seen an expansion of our oil industry leading to the creation of jobs and reduction in casualisation of workers,” said the President.
